Players may contract various nasty infections and diseases that can alter ones entire life. The medicine for these is far and wide very rare, costly, and difficult to make, and the symptoms are often eventually fatal.
Leprosy
Clusters of skin lesions and boils cover your body and disfigure your face, along with cartilidge. When left untreated, it could easily damage nerves and leave the victim numb in areas. It's hideous deformity makes it difficult for others to speak or have a relationship with you.
Cackling Fever
An airborne plague that drives people mad with wheezing laughter. Many physiological and emotional responses, such as pain, anger, or shock, are instead dominated by an urge to laugh. With this laughing, comes difficulty of breathing due to blackened lungs. Symptoms include the foul sound of wheezing phlegm in ones lung, with every laugh.
Brain Worms
Parasites that inhabit and make nests within the wrinkles of a brain. With these nests, they slowly eat away and burrow deeper into the brain, causing victims to change in personality or have a noticable difference in their motor function. Sometimes it is very quick, sometimes it is very slow. It almost always leads to death.
Varicosis
Bloating of the body. Starting from the legs, blood capilaries and veins begin to swell and turn blue due to fatigue and constant gravity. This spreads like wildfire and begins to climb up a victims body, turning their stomach, hands, arms and upper torso into sagging, blue, bloated bags of skin. Despite the horrific appearance, symptoms usually don't get any worse than bad fatigue, lower flexibility, and unsavory looks.
Blooming
A horrific mutation in which the human anatomy slowly matches more that of a plants biology. Various skin tags appear on the body and begin to lift and form petals. If left untreated, it may mutate and mass deform the human body as a whole, turning extremities into massive leaves, cloves, and petals of flesh.
Wiveswish
A condition in which one begins rapidly losing weight at an unnatural speed. This acceleration doesn't stop until the victim is whittled down to mere skin and bones, eventually too weak and shriveled to move their own body or stay conscious anymore. The name comes from the phenomena of many maidens who were exceedingly ecstatic about their symptoms, only to eventually parish from it.
