Bard

Queer fellows who indulge in fantasy. Playing pictures, tales, songs. Bard's live through influence, serving as a charming vessel for others. They work in mysterious and honeyed ways. What exactly do they intend to influence of Gehenna's dungeons? Even their closest comrades may never truly know.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Bard


Dual Identity (A)

A Bard can play different identitiess and characters, allowing them to view and interact with the world in a completely different perspective. In effect, the Bard has two identities: one is their true self (Social) while the other is a made-up character (Masked).

The Bard can start each day in either of their identities, referred to simply as Social or Masked. Changing from one identity to another takes 30 seconds.


Performance (A)

A Bard is trained to use the Perform skill to create magical effects on those around them, including them self if desired. They can use this ability for a number of rounds equal to 1 + their Charisma modifier. With every stack, the Bard may use the ability for an additional round +1.

Starting a Performance is a Main Action, but it can be maintained each round as a Bonus or Main Action. Changing a Performance requires the bard to stop the previous Performance and start a new one as a Main Action. A Performance ends immediately if the Bard is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a Bonus or Main Action to maintain it each round. A Bard cannot have more than one Performance in effect at one time.

If a Bard is missing the body parts related to the components of a Performance, or is otherwise restricted somehow, they may not perform.

If a Performance has Audible or Verbal Components, the targets must be able to hear the Bard for the Performance to have an effect. A Deaf Bard has a 25% chance to fail when attempting to use a Performance with an Audible Component. Roll 1D4. If the result is a 4, they succeed. If they fail, the attempt still counts against their daily limit. Deaf creatures are immune to Performances with Audible or Verbal Components.

If a Performance has a Visual component, the targets must have line of sight to the Bard for the Performance to have an effect. A blind Bard has a 25% chance to fail when attempting to use a Performance with a Visual Component. Roll 1D4. If the result is a 4, they succeed. If they fail, the attempt still counts against their daily limit. Blind creatures are immune to Performances with Visual Components.

Social Grace

The Bard can select any one INT, WIS, or CHA-based skill. Whenever the Bard is in their social identity, they receive a +3 bonus on checks with the selected skill. With every stack, the Bard may choose another skill to gain this bonus.


Well-Versed

The Bard becomes resistant to the Bardic Performance of others, and to sonic effects in general. The Bard gains a +4 bonus on skillchecks made against Bardic performance, sonic, and language-dependent effects.


Masked Talents

A Bard may choose a Rogue talent from the following list:

Stacks are not necessary for a Bard to gain more than one Rogue Talent.


Jack of All Trades

The Bard gains advantage on any skill check.


Great Actor

Main Action The Bard can replicate a melee/physical based attack/Class Feature performed by any of his teammates within the last 2 rounds. When replicating this action, all modifiers and stats must be made with the Bard's. Interrupts performances AFTER the action is executed (failed or not), and can only be executed a number of times per day equal to the Bard's CHA modifier.
